Adjective Examples
Felix needed seven beets to make his famous salad. He searched the vegetable aisle for beets that were large, juicy, and plump.
In this example, seven describes the noun beets, and famous describes the noun salad, telling us how many beets and what kind of salad, respectively. Vegetable describes the noun aisle, and large, juicy and plump describe what kind of beets Felix needs.
Positive, Comparative, and Superlative Examples
Positive: Sheila is very tall.
Comparative: She is taller than her brothers.
Superlative: Sheila is the tallest girl in her class.
